E-handel som drivkraft i ändrat konsumentbeteende; hur säkerställer vi att EU-lagstiftning utvecklas för att möta nya behoven?
Samtalet kommer beröra ändrade konsumentbeteenden till följd av den digitala omställningen och vad panelen ser att lagstiftningen behöver tänka på utifrån eventuella ändringar i konsumentbeteenden (både på konsumentområdet och digitala området), till exempel utifrån innovationsdriven e-handel och AI.

Arba Kokalari is a Member of the European Parliament since 2019, serving in the committees on internal market, economic affairs, employment and gender equality. Her main priorities are digitalisation, tech and circular economy. For example, she has negotiated the Digital Services Act (DSA) and legislation on tackling greenwashing and Right to Repair. Arba currently monitors the AI Act implementation as part of the Parliament’s AI Act Working Group.

Temu/Shein: What does the EU do to ensure a level playing field?
The EU is overflooding by parcels imported from very large online platforms. Last year 4,6 billion parcels entered the EU. A vast number of studies and tests show that the imported products are not complaint with the EU legislation, therefore undermining both the competitiveness for European business and the sustainability goals within the EU Green Deal.
To illustrate the problem, the session will include a presentation of HUI Research’s cost analysis on TEMU and SHEIN. Together with politicians and business representatives, Swedish Commerce will explore the necessary actions to level the playing field and address the challenges of unfair competition.
