D-Congress
It is more than an event; it’s a beacon for the future of global e-commerce

D-Congress: The Legacy of Innovation in Retail
For over a decade, D-Congress has been the premier annual meeting point for the e-commerce industry in Sweden. Following the pandemic, the event has made significant strides, featuring more international speakers and exhibitors and attracting a greater number of C-level participants. Over time, the number of attendees from beyond Sweden’s borders has also grown.
With its origins tracing back to 1973 and the founding of the Mail Order Association in Borås, the event has evolved significantly over the decades. It transformed into D-Congress in 2015, organized by Svensk Digital Handel and Svensk Handel, and moved to Gothenburg. Since 2023, Svensk Handel has taken full ownership of the event, continuing to foster collaboration and innovation in partnership with the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.
A Message from Per Ljungberg, Head of D-Congress
D-Congress has become Northern Europe’s most important meeting place for retail and e-commerce—where the future of commerce isn’t just discussed, but actively shaped. Each year, over 4,000 innovators, founders, policymakers, and tech pioneers gather in Gothenburg—not just for insight, but for energy, inspiration, and meaningful exchange.
What sets D-Congress apart is its atmosphere. It’s not just the scale or the speakers—it’s the sense of momentum, the openness to new ideas, and the immersive environment where boundaries blur between business, culture, and technology. From fast-growing disruptors to global giants, from policy to pop culture, D-Congress brings the entire ecosystem together.
Throughout the years, we’ve welcomed leading voices such as EU Commissioner Margrethe Vestager and the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, thought leaders like Steven Bartlett s and Rachel Botsman, and the creatives and strategists behind iconic brands like Supreme, Stüssy, and LVMH. Alongside them stand Nordic powerhouses like H&M, ICA Gruppen, and Axel Johnson, as well as a new generation of e-commerce brands rewriting the rules—Djerf Avenue, CAIA Cosmetics, and RevolutionRace.

With 130+ exhibitors and a program spanning AI, retail media, sustainability, branding, logistics, and leadership—D-Congress offers both width and depth. But above all, it offers a feeling: of possibility, of connection, of transformation in motion. Our vision is clear—to become the world’s most influential platform for retail transformation. We’re well on our way.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
