Temu/Shein: What does the EU do to ensure a level playing field?

The EU is overflooding by parcels imported from very large online platforms. Last year 4,6 billion parcels entered the EU. A vast number of studies and tests show that the imported products are not complaint with the EU legislation, therefore undermining both the competitiveness for European business and the sustainability goals within the EU Green Deal.

To illustrate the problem, the session will include a presentation of HUI Research’s cost analysis on TEMU and SHEIN. Together with politicians and business representatives, Swedish Commerce will explore the necessary actions to level the playing field and address the challenges of unfair competition.

Anna-Karin is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Lindex. Being a member of the Lindex leadership team, she is overseeing the development and implementation of the Sustainability strategy from a holistic perspective, ensuring integration in the business strategy. Anna-Karin holds a Bsc in Textile Management and have spent 25 years in the fashion industry within assortment and sourcing, most years with Lindex and have headed Lindex production offices in China, India and HongKong as well as assortment teams, before taking on the responsibility for sustainability 10 years ago.
