August Bard Bringeus
The idea of ASKET came to August and his co-founder Jakob Dworsky while studying together at Stockholm School of Economics. Both had grown frustrated with how hard it was to find something as simple as a quality white t-shirt or a good fitting Oxford shirt. Instead they found stores filled with the latest, ill-fitting trends. So, they saw an opportunity to move away from fashion’s seasonal churn and instead introduce a permanent collection of mindfully produced, quality and timeless garments – and only direct to consumer. What seemed like a simple idea at the time, has now proven to challenge the fashion industry’s business model, to one that moves slower and adds care back into the apparel system. As co-founder at ASKET, August’s remit is broad, covering marketing, e-commerce, retail, tech, as well as special projects. Since launching ASKET, August has continued to push for change in the fashion industry by introducing wholly new business practices; from launching ASKET’s Traceability Standard – a standard that aims to achieve 100% traceability across the collection’s supply chain, to introducing a lifecycle analysis project. Prior to starting ASKET, August worked in management consultancy as well as at a fintech.
